Obligation to provide French documents in Quebec clients: in effect for Assure&go

As of September 12, 2023, your Quebec clients who have chosen English as their language of correspondence will automatically receive contractual documents in French before signing a contract in English for Assure&go products.

The procedure is exactly the same as described in our July 12 email and applies to new sales of both savings and insurance products.

For insurance sales outside the electronic process, you must provide clients with the documents in French before they sign the contract in English.

We have updated the Insurance – Checklist for Quebec clients only document*, which now includes the 12 groups of contractual clauses. Please choose the correct group of contractual clauses and the corresponding application form for the appropriate insurance product. To make it easier, you can use the email template attached to the document.

Please use the most recent versions of the Assure&go paper applications (dated September 2023 as of the publication date of this article). It is now mandatory to use these versions as they include the declaration of delivery of documents in French.

Reminder: If you do not provide the documents to your clients in French, the contract could be cancelled, which could result in a significant financial loss for you and for iA Financial Group.
